She Walked Out Empty-Handed. She's Going Back Tomorrow.
Kate grew up on a small farm in Manjimup, Western Australia — the youngest of five kids with state forest stretching out across the road. After years of FIFO work in the Pilbara, she found her way into bow hunting through her partner Brett, and hasn't looked back since. Her first real hunt came through Her Outdoor Journey — a beginner women's trip in NSW. She walked out empty-handed. She went home completely hooked. From there she joined a women's bow hunt in New Zealand with Precision Helicopters: chamois country, steep terrain, a December snow flurry settling into the basin, and a steep learning curve to match. Kate is still learning. She still hasn't taken an animal. And by her own account, she's loving every single minute of it. In between hunts she's out with her daughters Amelia and Quinn — teaching them to light fires, read scat, sleep under the stars, and fall in love with the bush the same way she did. This one's for every woman who's come home with an empty pack and a full heart.
